Coarse Scale is a blog about model railways and various related subjects. Despite having been an armchair modeller for many years, I still consider myself a relative beginner to the hobby.
My interests within the hobby are wide-ranging and eclectic – I can’t get excited about gradient profiles or steam pressure, but beyond the dry, technical stuff, anything is fair game. My particular interest is in unusual railways – branch lines, industrial lines, quirky locomotives, odd operations, anything that gets pointed to prior to someone uttering the words “prototype for everything”.
Therefore, this blog might contain more-or-less anything remotely on-topic. Interesting historical titbits, photos, tips and the occasional random rambling are very liable to show up at any time.
Put it this way – there’s a train of thought, but it’s likely to be shunted or derailed on a whim.
